| We believe in one God – the holy trinity which is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) We believe the Bible, consisting of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, is the Word of God, full of power and without error. All scripture is divinely inspired and good for instruction, correction, training for holy living, and following God’s will. (2 Timothy 3:16) We believe no man is capable of keeping God’s commandments in his own strength and merit to the degree that would measure up to God’s standards. All have sinned and that sin separates us from God. (Romans 3) We believe that Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, paid for the sins of all mankind when He died on the cross and was resurrected 3 days later. His life was so precious and valuable that His death covered the cost of every person and every sin. (Matthew 1: 18, Romans 5) We believe that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13) Whoever believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him as Lord and Savior will have eternal life. (John 3:16) We believe that God loves every person passionately and unconditionally. Jesus’ death on the cross was motivated by love and intended to bring us into right relationship with God the Father. (John 3:16-17) We believe that God is full of mercy and grace and does not want anyone to perish (die in sin). (2 Peter 3:9) We believe that God made all people, and has a plan for each of His creations. Those plans are good, to give us hope and a future, and not to harm us. (Jeremiah 29:11) We believe that although Jesus the Christ overcame the world, people living in the world will have trouble. (John 16:33) We believe if we can encourage others, we should encourage them. (Romans 12:8) |
