Following is an excerpt from my journal. I pray that it blesses you in some way.

I was just thinking about God orchestrating our lives. To orchestrate means to be the chief coordinator of (an activity requiring action by more than one person); to organize and coordinate. Just like someone conducting a symphony the leader knows how it’s supposed to sound and he sees all the players and he knows everybody’s part. It’s the individual’s responsibility to know and play their part. They are to take direction from the one orchestrating. But each player has free will and that will affect his performance. If he hasn’t practiced or learned his part it’s not going to sound right. And each player has a choice whether or not to receive direction offered. Players might get distracted and not stay focused on the leader. Players may purposely choose not to acknowledge the leader. Some players may be so determined to do things their own way that they ignore the leader and play what they want to hear. That’s foolishness since only the leader knows all the parts and how the music should sound.
In an orchestra timing is critical. Some instruments have to be silent for a while until it’s their turn to play. Some of us have trouble waiting for our parts.
Some instruments have to be backup for other instruments. Not all play the melody and not all have solos, but if we will follow the direction a beautiful score will result. If a player consistently chooses to refuse direction eventually he’ll have to be removed from the orchestra. Not because the leader is angry but because the player is messing things up for everyone. The leader may try to compensate for the player’s mistakes several times before removing him; but it isn’t fair to mess up the performance for everyone. Another person must play his part or adaptations must be made so the music will still be pleasing.
OK I’m going to sleep for real now.
